Crane County Warrant RecordsCrane County Warrant Records

The court named on the paper is where to begin. Crane County warrant records sit in more than one drawer: the JP, the Municipal Court, County Court, and District Court each keep their own files, while the Sheriff serves some court process and holds records of its own. So one office's answer may not cover another's. The county JP offers an online case and citation tool; Crane Municipal Court handles city citations by phone or in person. The combined County/District Clerk routes district and county case questions. Bring sheriff-held process questions to the Sheriff, then ask the issuing court to confirm the current status and your next step with any Crane County warrant records question.

Crane County Warrant Checks

Match the paperwork to its court. Crane County runs no shared warrant search, so the office you call depends on the paper. A JP citation belongs to the JP; a Crane ticket belongs to Municipal Court. County Court and 109th District Court questions go through the combined District/County Clerk, and sheriff service questions go to the Sheriff, though only the issuing court confirms status. Lost the paper? Give the office an approximate date, case number, and issuing agency.

  1. For a JP traffic or Class C case, search the official Crane JP case portal. Older citations have a date cutoff described below.
  2. For a city citation, ask Crane Municipal Court about the case and any warrant or capias status.
  3. For County Court or 109th District Court matters, identify the court with the combined District/County Clerk.
  4. For a Sheriff-held or served warrant, call the Crane County Sheriff and ask which office can verify it.
  5. If a phone answer is incomplete, send a focused records request to the proper county office or court. Ask what action clears the warrant and what resolves the case.

Texas has no public statewide warrant lookup. DPS FTA/FTP reporting tracks license compliance, not Crane County warrants, and federal process follows its own route.

Crane County Active Warrant Lists

The Sheriff page gives contact details and nothing more: no searchable roster, no warrant desk, no surrender hours, no update schedule. Treat it as a phone number, not a countywide status check. A blank result from any other office cannot rule out a JP or city-court process either. For real status, ask the issuing court whether its process is an arrest warrant, bench order, capias, or capias pro fine. The Sheriff page links custody and victim-notice resources, and neither of those is a warrant search. Crane County posts no most-wanted roster. City Crime Stoppers takes tips rather than listing names. Third-party results always need court confirmation before you act on them.

Warrants in Crane County: The Main Types

Different names point to different courts and events. A missed appearance can create a compliance issue in Crane County, while a new arrest warrant follows probable-cause review. A capias pro fine enforces an unpaid judgment. Ask for the process label first.

ProcessHow it arisesLikely Crane contact
Arrest warrantA magistrate finds probable cause and signs a written arrest command.Issuing court or magistrate; Sheriff, Police, or Constable may serve it.
Bench processA missed setting, contempt issue, or other failure to comply with court direction.JP, Municipal Court, County Court, or District Court that set the matter.
CapiasFormal criminal process, including a felony capias after indictment at the judge's direction.109th District Court and District Clerk for district cases.
Capias pro fineA fine or judgment was not satisfied as ordered.JP or Municipal Court that entered the judgment.

Crane County search warrants let deputies look for evidence, but they do not show up on a warrant-check list. Family, juvenile, and out-of-county process runs under separate rules. The JP citation portal does not cover them.

Crane County JP Warrant Search

Crane County runs its justice court cases through the Tyler JP portal. It searches citations and JP cases. It is not a warrant list. There is no warrant-only filter, no active toggle, and no update schedule posted. You can look up a case by number or citation, by name and birth date, by driver-license state, by plate and state, or by a business name. If a case is missing, the county says to call.

Crane County Warrant Records: What They Show

The Tyler interface covers JP cases and citations, not every Crane County warrant. It offers no warrant-only filter, no active toggle, no result count, and no published update schedule; the county tells users to call when a case is missing. Reach it through the official JP portal home. Search fields take a case or citation number, name and birth date, driver-license state, vehicle plate and state, or business name. These fields locate cases, not warrant status.

Crane County Warrant Offices Share a Courthouse

At 201 W. 6th Street, the County/District Clerk sits in Room 110 and County Court in Room 102. The county homepage posts a general switchboard. The JP, Sheriff, and Constable each use separate contact routes, so ask which office holds the record before you drive over. The Clerk's recorded-document form wants instrument, volume, and page details; it is not a criminal-warrant form, and its search or copy fees set no warrant fee. Sheriff records move through the county's public-information route, while court files follow court-access rules. The official County Judge page identifies one more courthouse office in Crane County, though it is no warrant desk.

Nearby offices still keep separate records and procedures.

Note: The courthouse and city offices are close together, but proximity does not combine their case files.

Crane County Warrants: Who Issues, Who Serves

Courts and magistrates authorize process; peace officers execute it. Crane Police handle city policing, while the Constable serves process across Crane County. The Sheriff's page lists a contact channel only. Ask the issuing court about the record and any recall step.

Crane County Sheriff

Contact for sheriff-held or served process questions. The official page does not identify a dedicated warrant unit or a public status portal.

The county information portal can route a records request, but the Clerk, JP, and Municipal Court keep separate case files. A view of the county courthouse appears on the official county homepage. That page shows the public building itself. It is not a warrant desk or a promise about where to report in Crane County.

Crane County Federal Warrant Route

Crane County falls in the Western District of Texas, Midland/Odessa Division. Federal matters sit outside the county JP and city court. The federal clerk handles public-docket access, and the U.S. Marshals Service handles federal process. Sealed or unexecuted warrants may not appear in a docket search. The Western District local-rules page names the division and the Midland courthouse.

The official federal docket system is PACER. It requires an account and generally charges ten cents per page, capped at three dollars per document, with a quarterly waiver threshold. CourtListener/RECAP sometimes has free docket copies. It stays incomplete and is no warrant database for Crane County.

Neither service confirms that a specific federal warrant is held locally. The U.S. Marshals Western District contact page describes the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. It offers no Crane County self-search and no confirmation of local federal process.

Handling a Crane County Warrant

Figure out which court issued the Crane County warrant and what it wants next. The county posts no walk-in surrender policy, bond schedule, or guaranteed recall process. Payment alone does not end the case, so ask the court whether an appearance, bond, or motion is still required.

For a personal status question: Contact an attorney if possible, then speak with the issuing court before traveling. Ask whether a voluntary appearance is accepted, where to report, and what happens after arrival.

Crane County JP rules treat a missed pretrial or trial setting as possible contempt, and the court may require a personal or bail bond. The courtesy letter spells out the stakes: a warrant can issue, and a license renewal can be blocked. Paying at the JP may settle the amount while a required appearance or court order still stands. City matters go to Municipal Court for directions, and a family capias follows its own separate process. Once you have paid, bonded out, appeared, or obtained an order, request written confirmation of the status and the next court date. DPS warns that an FTA/FTP license update can take up to seven business days after processing, and that update does not recall a warrant. For court routes, see the Crane County warrant check steps.

Crane County JP Tuesday Warrant Access

A dated notice from the Crane County JP says the public counter is closed every Tuesday starting September 1, 2026, while staff scan older records, and Tuesday access returns when the scanning ends. This affects only the county JP counter. Municipal Court and the Sheriff are not closed. The posted JP hours and the Tyler vendor's service-hour display do not fully match, so confirm before you go. Call 432-558-1108 or email jpweb@co.crane.tx.us, especially if a missed date may have triggered a warrant or contempt action.

Crane County Pre-2022 JP Citation Search

The Tyler portal tells users to contact the court for citations filed before December 5, 2022. That date is a search cutoff, not an expiration date. When an older search comes back empty, the file may simply not be indexed. Call the Crane County JP rather than reading the no-result screen as proof the case or warrant is gone. The Tuesday scanning closure makes a call doubly wise before any older-record visit, and while you have the court on the line, ask how to pull the file and whether any separate court action remains open.

Warrant Record Access Under Texas Law

Who holds the record, and whether a legal limit applies, decides what you can see in Crane County. Texas' Public Information Act covers many county agency records, but court case records follow a separate court-access process. A sheriff or prosecutor may withhold material when release would interfere with an investigation. Juvenile and sealed records carry further limits.

Access rules to know

Texas Government Code Chapter 552 allows written requests to public offices, subject to exceptions.

Code of Criminal Procedure article 15.26 makes an executed arrest warrant and supporting affidavit public, subject to other limits.

Family Code section 58.010 protects a child's arrest warrant and supporting complaint or affidavit.

Texas Judicial Branch Rule 12 policy directs requests for judicial records to the court or clerk.

An empty search result does not prove no warrant exists. Ask the issuing Crane County court to confirm status and the right request route.

Crane County Warrant Fee Boundaries

Crane County publishes no countywide warrant fee or general bond schedule. The County Clerk's recorded-document form carries a search charge, but that charge is not a warrant-status fee. JP, Municipal Court, County Court, and District Court matters may each need different payments or appearances. Ask the issuing court which amount applies, and whether payment alone changes anything.

City Warrant Records in Crane County

Crane is the only incorporated city in Crane County. Its police department and Municipal Court share a building but keep distinct roles. For a city citation or warrant question, start with the Municipal Court.

Crane, Texas

Crane Police serves city law-enforcement functions. Crane Municipal Court handles city citations, ordinance matters, and court process. No public city warrant list was located.
